OFFICIAL REPLYCARD

The P66 Official postcard was first published in 1902. The card has medium-length pre-printed address lines (104mm) with lines close together. On the sender's side the word "Postkarte" is on the left-hand side of the card. The words "An" and "In" are directly below "Postkarte".

On the Reply portion the word "Postkarte" is just above "(Antwort") on the left-hand side. At the bottom left-hand side of the "In" is the inscription "Die angebogene Karte ist fur die Antwort Bestimmt" (This part is for the reply). This replycard only exists in one form and that is without a watermark.

In addition to the regular issue postcads there were several privately printed versions of this card, some of which can be seen below.

BERLIN

The return address for the following replycard was to a "Frau Konsul Friedmann" in Berlin. The text on the reverse of the card reads "On Wednesday, May 11th, Prof. Gernsheim will begin rehearsals for June 15th in the Royal University concert. The honored members are urgently asked to indicate on the attached card whether they commit themselves to singing in rehearsals and concerts."

BRANDENBURG

This private version was to be returned to Mr Gustav Kehrl and was sponsored by the "Historischer Verein zu Brandenburg" - The 'Historical Association of Brandenburg'. The card is an invitation to attend the "Winter Fun" dance to be held on Sat Mar 17th at the Stadtpark. The fun was due to start at 8pm with a simple dinner costing 1.5 Marks. There is a special request for young men who are able to dance to attend. Closing date for the return of the card was 12th Mar.

The following P66 postcard was privately printed for "das Evang. Kasino | Hier. | Börsenplatz 7."

Another example below from HIER, this one is an unused message (F) portion of the card inscribed "das Pfarramt St. Pauli | Hier | Gerichtsstrasse 1." - 'The parish office of St. Pauli | Hier | Gerichtsstrasse 1.'
