30th ANNIVERSARY OF THE
GERMAN EMPIRE
(18th Jan 1901)

This postcard was published to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the creation of the German Empire on 18th Jan 1901 as well as 30 years of the Reichpost. There are two versions of this card:

PP13-C-3/01: without a line below the word "Drucksache"
PP13-C-3/02: with a line beneath the word "Drucksache".

The cards were printed by the Hermann Ludwig Institute of Leipzig and the scene depicted is that of the Palace of Versailles, the site of the imperial proclamation in 1871.

This postally used example of a PP13-C-3/02 was cancelled in DRESDEN on 8th Jan 1901.
