Domestic postcards with a form change (intermediate edition). Address form still with 4 simple lines of dots, but now with a three-line "Wohnung | (Straβe und | Hausnummer)' note in front of the fourth line of dots, with dot gap and also with print date.

Issued 1887. Inscribed 'DEUTSCHES REICHSPOST | POSTKARTE.' The pre-printed stamp is a 1880 issue Michel 40, 5Pf stamp inscribed "5 PFENNIG 5 | DEUTSCHE REICHS-POST | 5 PFENNIG 5 ".

P16 can be differentiated from similar postcards by the '287' print control code on the bottom right-hand side. This card also has gaps in the 4th dotted address line at one of the following positions: left 10, 15 or right 15,
