Issued 1884. Inscribed "DEUTSCHE REICHSPOST | POST-ANWEISUNG'. On the reverse at the lower right "Gedruckt in der Reichsdruckerei", underneath the printing date. On the front of the card the 3rd line has either 61 or 63mm long, otherwise as 1880 issue A1 and A2 .

There are three versions of this postal order as follows:

A3 TYPE I: 27 grid lines and print control date 484.
A3 TYPE II: 27 grid lines and print control date 584, 684, 784, 884, 984, 1084, 1184, 1284, 185, 285 or 385.
A3 TYPE III: 22 grid lines and print control date 884.
