P2 - OFFICIAL POSTCARD
2 KREUZER

Issued: 1st Jan 1873. P2 is the only postcard to feature a 2 Kreuzer eagle in large ellipse pre-printed stamp, and a flower border. The card measures 140 x 90mm and is on brown card stock.

This card should not be confused with either the P4 Message (F), or Answer (A) side of a P4 replycard, and can easily be distinguised by the design of the border (P4 has a border consisting of breaking waves).

In additon the title on the P2 postcard also differs from the message (F) and answer (A) title on the P4 replycard.

OTHER P2 CARDS IN MY COLLECTION

1. the P2 card below was cancelled in FRANKFURT (MAIN) on 17th Oct 1874 and was destined for RONSDORF.



2. The second P2 below was posted in SONNEBERG (SACHS) on 13th Oct 1873 and was destined for LEIPZIG. The cancellation is a rectangular shape rather than the more common circular shape.
