BACKGROUND: This stamp was issued on 1st Jul 1944 and printed by the Vienna State Printing Works. Prof. Marten designed the stamp which features an image of Duke Albrecht of Brandenburg-Ansbach (1490-1568), the University's founder. There is an associated special postmark which was used for one day on the 7th of July.
VALIDITY: 1st Jul 1944 until May 1945
