BACKGROUND: This the first of two Ahrle designed stamps issued in Jun 1944 to commemorate the Exhibition of the R.A.D (Reichs Arbeit’s Dienst) or German Labour Service . The stamps were printed recess at the Berlin State Printing Works. The stamp depicts a female R.A.D member in her uniform.

SPECIAL CANCELLATION: Germany did not use a special handstamp to mark this event but three were used in PRAGUE and BOHEMIA and MORAVIA. The inscription reads "REICHSARBEITSDIENST | KUNST | SCHAU 1944 | zu PRAG".
