BACKGROUND: Issued on 11th Mar 1944 this was the sixth stamp is a series of 13 stamps released to commemorate both the Day of the Armed Forces and Hero's Day 1944. The complete set was designed by Prof. O. Anton and printed photogravure by the Berlin State Printing Works. This design features a German Anit-Aircraft unit watching the night's sky with a search light
