BACKGROUND: This single E. R. Vogenaur designed stamp was issued on 17th Apr 1941 to commemorate Hitler's 52nd birthday in 1941. This design of the stamp is from a photo by Hitler's personal photographer Herman Hoffmann. There was also a series of 4 special postmarks available on the day itself, 20th Apr 1941. In addition, there was an official series of 8 postcards available.
