BACKGROUND: This is the sixth stamp in a set of 9 stamps designed by L. Wüst. They were issued on 5th Nov 1940 to raise money for the Winter Relief Fund. The stamps were printed by the State Printing Works in Berlin and this stamp features an image of Porta Nigra, Trier. Unlike in previous years, only one slogan handstamp was used with these stamps although there was also a series of six official postcards available.
