BACKGROUND: This was a re-issue of the Hindenburg Medallions II series from earlier in the year, but now with Swastika watermark and perf K14:14¼. As these stamps were produced over a long period of time, they do show significant variations in colour and shade.

COLOUR: dark lilac-purple
WATERMARK: Swastika
PERF: K14x14¼.

ABOVE LEFT: 524 P OR (Sheets) Upper edge with values only
ABOVE RIGHT: 524 W OR Upper edge with values and lines (2'9'2).

The only way to determine if a stamp is from a sheet or a coil is if it has a section of the gutter attached or if there is a continuous strip of 11 stamps (coil only).
