BACKGROUND: This stamp was part of the second series of stamps featuring the image of Paul von Hindenburg. These stamps are referred to as Hindenburg Medallions.

The only way to determine if a stamp is from a sheet or a coil is if it has a section of the gutter attached or if there is a continuous strip of 11 stamps (coil only).
The booklets are more easily distinquished from the sheets when they exist as se-tenants with two different value stamps attached or if the values are the same but one of the stamps is inverted.
