HITLER YOUTH MOVIE
(1933)

This postcard was produced in 1933 to advertise a movie featuring the Hitler Youth called "Hitler Junge Quex". The film was directed by Hans Steinhoff and was based on a 1932 novel by Karl Aloys Schenzinger. In the US the film was named 'Our Flag Leads Us Forward'.

The movie cost the equivalent of €1.5 million and runs for about an hour and a half and premiered on 11th Sep 1933 in Munich and had been viewed by 1 million people by Jan 1934.. Hitler, Hess and Goebbels all attended the premiere. In Germany today screening of the movie outside of closed educational events is illegal.
