P249 - GERMAN EMERGENCY SERVICE
6Rpf RICHARD WAGNER STAMP
1st Nov 1933. This postcard features the 'Festival House" in Bayreuth and has a 6Rpf green indicia stamp featuring a portrait of Wagner, one of Hitler's favourite composers. "Honour your German Masters, Bayreuth / Festspielhaus." this postcard was issued concurrently with a set of 9 special stamps, Michel 499-507, commemorating the works of Richard Wagner.
P249 was valid for use from 1st Nov 1933 until 30th Jun 1934.
As well as the official card there were a number of official cards with additional private printing.
