4th BUNDESTAG / 33rd GERMAN PHILATELIC DAY
(19th/23rd Mar 1927)
BACKGROUND: This series of private postcards was issued from 19th to 23rd Mar 1927 in Berlin to commemorate the 4th Bundestag and 33rd German Philatelic Day. The cards each feature a prominent German Philatelist.
There were two sets issued, each consisting of 11 cards, all identical except that the first set, PP97-C-2, has a 3Rpf Goethe pre-printed stamp, and the second set, PP101-C-3, all have a 5Rpf Schiller pre-printed stamp.
SPECIAL CANCEL: In addition to the postcards, there were two special cancels available:
The first inscribed: "BERLIN SW 61 | 4 Bundestag | 1927 | 33. Deutscher Philatelistentag"
The second inscribed: "POTSDAM | BERLIN | 4 Bundestag | 33. Deutscher Philatelistentag | Schiffspost | D.Wintermärchen".
